Technician Spotlight - Natasha Martin

Introducing Bio Sculpture Technician of 9 years and Ambassador 2018, Natasha Martin. We asked Natasha to tell us more about her story with Bio Sculpture, as well as her top tips for beautiful, long lasting nails!

Why did you decide to start a career in nails?
In 2007 I went straight from school to do a BTEC National Diploma in Beauty Therapy Sciences. I especially liked doing nails and have done ever since. As a beauty therapist I think it is lovely to specialise in a particular treatment.

What made you choose Bio Sculpture?
I chose Bio Sculpture because I wanted to offer a premium brand. There are so many salons around offering similar products, so I wanted to offer something completely different to other basic gel brands. I love the fact you have to be qualified to buy Bio Sculpture products, making it exclusive!

Why does a career as a manicurist suit you more than your previous career?
I was lucky enough to know what I wanted to do from a young age. So I have always worked in the beauty industry!

What is your favourite Bio Sculpture colour?
It’s so hard to choose from all of the colours! It would have to be 19 Pillar Box Red and 184 Classic Jacquard. Both colours are classics and the staples of all of my gels.

What are your top three tips for someone wanting to make a career change and become a manicurist?
Don’t be scared to make that change. It’s never too late to do something you love.  Becoming a manicurist is so versatile.

How many hours a week do you work?
I work Monday to Saturday, approximately 65 hours a week!

How do you find your clients?
My clients are my walking advertisements! This is why I make sure each and every set I do is done to the best of my ability! Instagram is also a huge marketing tool for me, so I always update daily to share my work!

What is your favourite nail art trend at the moment?
Although you cannot beat a classic, elegant plain set, I also love a long set of nails with co-ordinating Swarovski’s and glitter!!
